Located in the Sahyadri mountain ranges of western India, Panchgani is a picturesque hill station that offers breathtaking views and a cool climate, away from the heat of the plains. Known for its strawberry farms and lush vegetation, Panchgani attracts tourists throughout the year.

Getting to Panchgani

Panchgani is located about 100km from Pune in Maharashtra. The nearest airport is at Pune, from where you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Panchgani, which takes about 3 hours. Pune is well connected by flights from Mumbai and other major cities.

You can also take a train from Mumbai, Pune, or other nearby cities to Wathar station, which is just 13km away from Panchgani. From Wathar, you can easily get buses or taxis to Panchgani.

Where Exactly is Panchgani Located?

Panchgani is nestled in the middle of five hills in the Sahyadri ranges - Dandeghar, Khingar, Bhilar, Godivali, and Tapola. It is located at an altitude of 1334m above sea level, which gives it a pleasant and cooler climate compared to the plains.

The five lakes around Panchgani add to its beauty. The Krishna River also flows nearby through the valley. Panchgani falls en route from Mahabaleshwar to Wai and makes for an ideal stopover.
