I often take long, contemplative walks along the entire 3 km shoreline with the fine sand cushioning my feet. The beach remains unlittered as very few tourists frequent Murud. Tiny crabs scampering around and seashells dotting the sands provide perfect photo opportunities.
While the lack of beach shacks may seem inconvenient, I don't mind carrying food from my hotel. After all, Murud offers such spectacular views of the sunset reflection on the glassy waters that I happily trade minor comforts for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Dapoli Beach - Vibrant and Lively
In contrast to Murud's tranquil atmosphere, Dapoli Beach offers a lively vibe with its bustling market. It makes for a perfect evening spot to relax and sample the scrumptious local street food after enjoying water sports during the day.
As I spoon the addictive solkadhi, I watch excited children build sandcastles and locals play cricket on the beach as the sun dips below the horizon. Dapoli Beach seems filled with a joie de vivre that never fails to uplift my mood. The influx of tourists also indicates the popularity of its gleaming sands and clean waters amidst coconut and cashew groves.
Don't miss out on the spectacular dolphin sightings early morning during the boat rides organized by local fishermen. While slightly crowded on weekends, Dapoli's charm lies in witnessing fisher folk hauling their catch and conducting auctions on the beach itself.
The bustling Dapoli beach offers a lively environment to enjoy local culture compared to other quieter beaches. It is ideal for those seeking moderate crowds rather than seclusion.

Ladghar Beach – Pristine Paradise
A 15-minute drive from Dapoli city lies its best-kept secret, Ladghar beach. This secluded stretch has captured my heart with its serene ambiance, smooth sand dotted with seashells, and breathtaking views of the Karli River merging into the sea.
Ladghar remains pristine as very few tourists find this remote beach adjacent to the naval base. With no shacks in sight, I prefer to pack a picnic basket and halt at Ladghar for lunch whenever I visit Dapoli.
As I bite into my delicious homemade sandwich, the lull of the waves transports me into a trance-like state. I could spend hours admiring the varying hues of blues and greens as the sun's rays danced on the waters. Sometimes I spot warships and submarines entering the naval base, making me realize Ladghar's strategic location.
Its untouched beauty coupled with isolation makes Ladghar my personal heaven. I dream of owning a summer beach house here someday to spend quiet vacations amalgamating with nature.

Through repeated visits to Dapoli spanning over a decade now, I've had the joy of discovering its most pristine beaches.
